Pizza pizza pizza

So the sun was shining this morning! A welcome sight for sure. Tents were soaked and sleeping bags were damp. Packed up and on the trail by 8. Still a little fog hanging around but bright blue skies for the day.
The first few miles were pretty flat and we actually hiked a long a stream (with water!!) We hiked past some really old, huge and amazing trees.
At lunch we found a good spot to lay all our gear out to dry.

About the last 15 miles of the day were climbing. Even though the grade is gradual, that's a bunch of climbing.  We came to a spot where we'd heard there was a tank where we could fill water (still needed to be filtered) and behind the tank was 'Tom's place'. Definitely one of those unique 'trail' places. We heard that sometimes they have food for hikers.
And boy did they! It was a quirky place with a ramshackle house, a bunch of tents and oddly, a wood-fired pizza oven. Josh and Tom were cooking pizzas and they were excellent! Crispy thin crust. No tortillas and tuna tonight. :)
Lots of people camping here tonight. Full of delicious pizza and not a raindrop in sight.
