Gearing up...

Literally. PCT...here I come!! Some new gear for this very different trail. No green tunnel. Lots of sun exposure. Lots of altitude. More snow. And some of the most beautiful trail in the country. I can't wait!
But, before all that can happen, I have a house to sell. The last few months have been a little overwhelming. I've lived in Lawrence, Kansas my entire life. It's an incredible place. I've always talked about moving to Colorado. But there was always a reason to stay. I wanted to get the kids through school, make sure they had 'home' to come home to when they were in college. Now they have all graduated (well...almost) and are settling in to homes of their own...so it's go time. It doesn't hurt that two of my kids live in Denver. (And I'm crossing my fingers that number 3 ends up out there too :)
Anyway, back to the house. After 15 years, 3 kids and all my art crap, there was LOTS of cleaning out to do. Just about have that wrapped up and I gotta say, it feels good!!! I feel lighter already.
I have great family here. And great friends, so leaving is not going to be easy. I've had an incredible support system my whole life and it's not something I take for granted. But I guess I feel like maybe it's time to challenge myself a little bit. I don't want to have regrets about things I wanted to do, but didn't. As my friend Marcia says, "No regrets, only lessons learned."   So, Colorado, here I come. ...eventually. But before that, I'm going to attempt to walk from Mexico to Canada.  Yahoo!!!!!
