PCT Eve

Thanks so much to my good friends, Greg and Laura for hosting us and spoiling us with good food and comfy beds. So fun to see them in their home.
We ran around this morning gathering our last minute supplies and then they dropped us at Scout and Frodo's house. Trail angels here in San Diego that host hikers and then transport them to the trailhead in the morning. There are 14 of us here tonight. Camping in their backyard.
There are people here from Canada, Israel, Germany and Netherlands. All ages. They fixed this great Veggie Pie and butternut squash soup for dinner and everyone pitched in.
Incredibly warm and welcoming people and inspiring ambassadors for the PCT.
He's a retired lawyer and she's a retired science teacher. And the magic begins. Packing up tonight for a 6 am departure. For this  first day, it's a long stretch of no water, so we start out carrying about 12 pounds of water. Yowsa!! Bedtime...after all, it's nearly 8:00!
