Logistics

A few more random snow pics from two days ago...

And this is 'the Bear' from Ziggy and the Bear where we stayed last night. Awesome people.

Anyway...back to the present...
It's  so easy when all we have to do is pack up and start walking north. Today, we had to figure out how to get to Onyx Summit , which is where the fire closure ended. There is one person who shuttles people but her car was in the shop until afternoon. So a group of us rented a few cars for the drive to the summit, just before Big Bear. Many were riding straight in to Big Bear, but then they were missing 14 miles of open trail. It took some figuring, but we made it work so we could hike the open trail. Although, we did get sidetracked because on the way to Onyx was ...
Several had never experienced In and Out Burger, so naturally we had to stop. I ate plenty, but check out the amount of food on Hightowers tray!! (Hightower next to me and The other guy is Dexter)
Finally got on the trail to start hiking and came to kind of an iconic spot...'the couch in the woods '. And next to it is a big dumpster thing filled with trail magic. Treats, lotion, camping necessities etc.
Hiked a few more miles and found a nice campsite with a picnic table so stopped here for the night. Tomorrow we get in to Big Bear Lake for laundry and shower.
