Hikertown

So, we know to never sleep under sketchy trees so they don't fall on you on a windy night. We got in late and we were out of options so we wisely decided to sleep under this sturdy fellow
Survived the night and hiked down to Hiker Town. A very unique, bizarre and unexplainable phenomenon. Sort of old western town themed hostel? Here are some photos. Apparently the owners were once involved with film so it's built from parts of old movie sets and each building is its own little room. Full of strange odds and ends. See...I told you it was indescribable.
As you can see in the background, the clouds were a little ominous so we opted to stay here for the afternoon and hike out tomorrow. We start across the LA Aquaduct tomorrow in the Mojave desert and doing it in a storm seemed like a bad idea.
My friend, Marsha, is joining us for a few days of hiking here. What an introduction to the trail! Hanging out at one of the more bizarre spots right off the bat! Tomorrow, is supposed to be cool (in the 40's today-not what I was expecting here!) and possibly a little overcast, which  would be nice for crossing this flat, dry, open stretch!
