We're baa-aaack

Met back up in Tehachapi last night and hit the trail again this morning. We had 8 miles of wind farm ahead of us. Sooo, since Murphy's cousins were still here visiting AND they had a car... They dropped us off at the road where we got off last week. It just so happens that there is another road right after the 8-mile  wind farm section. So, we left most of our gear, and just took some snacks and water and we quickly pounded out the miles with minimal weight on our backs. What a difference! Kind of makes me want to become an ultralight backpacker, BUT I just don't have it in me. I need my stuff! The little things that make life a little more comfortable out here. But it was sure nice for a day!
Hiked past
And then some more...
And then some cows with even more
Wind turbines in the background. There were literally thousands of them!!
Got to the second road and saw this guy
Not a rattlesnake fortunately. Murphy's cousin picked us up for one last night in Tehachapi. Ate at Kohnen's Bakery (if you ever find your self here, unlikely I know) I would highly recommend it!
Tomorrow is full steam ahead. 85 miles of uninterrupted trail with some pretty big climbs. I feel rejuvenated and ready to tackle what's next. We've been seeing posts about those going through the Sierras. Lots of snow, so it will definitely be challenging but should be do-able.
Another interesting note, we started this journey a little early, knowing that there would be this week off in May. So we were ahead of the bigger bubble of people. Now, there seems to be a lot more hikers here, so we will probably be moving within a bigger group. New, cool people to meet :)
