Talked to a few hikers we hadn't seen for a few days and a few we'd never met. Then we went to Carmen's, where your first drink is free. And I had...
We shared a table with James, a young guy from Utah. Quite a character. Out on the front porch is a hiker box, where people drop off stuff they don't need and others find stuff that they do. The old 'ones man's trash is another man's treasure' . Here are James and Movin On sifting for treasure.
Next, we wandered down the street to Mom's Pies where she offers a free slice to PCT hikers.
James graciously posed in front of Mom's for us.
Hot caramel apple pie. With cinnamon ice cream..wow.
Did a little resupply and then relaxed this afternoon. Greg and Laura drove in from Oceanside for dinner and brought us some goodies and some necessities. They have been too amazing and gave me a St. Christopher bracelet to keep me safe. Too nice. And again...I feel very lucky.
We are tucked in at the Julian Lodge for the night. It's nice to be out of the weather. Forecast looks like a few more rainy days and then lots of sunshine.
Tonight...sleeping in a bed with a real pillow. Life is good.
Beer, pie, real food, nice people and a shower! Glad things are going well. Love all the pictures. Gorgeous scenery!
